Before Orchid Bay Designs had a name, it was a feeling, sparked in the quiet corners of Roma Bakhru’s childhood.
She grew up surrounded by the soft rustle of fabrics and the hum of creativity, watching her aunts craft beautiful clothes by hand, studying weaves and textures like an unspoken language.
It wasn’t just inspiration — it was inheritance.
In 1994, Roma transformed that early fascination into purpose. After studying Fashion Designing at IIFT Delhi and completing a hands-on course in sewing and drafting, she honed her skills working with several reputed export houses in Delhi. Those years shaped her understanding of fit, finish, and the intimate relationship between clothing and confidence.
Orchid Bay Designs was born from more than just experience. It came from Roma’s belief that clothing can be a powerful tool for self-love. Through her work, she’s helped countless women discover the beauty of a perfect fit, not just in size, but in spirit.
